Proudly founded in Scotland: Utopi named in the inaugural Sunday Times Scotland Fast 50

We are delighted to share that Utopi has been recognised among the country’s fastest growing companies in the first ever Sunday Times Scotland Fast 50.

There are some moments that ask you to pause and take stock of how far a company has come. Being named in the inaugural Sunday Times Scotland Fast 50 is one of them.

The 2026 index, backed by Cazenove Capital and supported by S&W and the Scottish Government, celebrates the businesses driving growth across the country. It spans a broad range of sectors and reaches into every corner of Scotland, and we could not be prouder to see Utopi take its place on the list.

As the organisers put it:

“The beating heart of Scotland’s economy is driven by a host of often quiet achievers, successful companies growing at pace and leading progress in their respective sectors.”

Growth is not something we take for granted at Utopi. It is the product of two things we value above almost everything else: the clients who continue to trust us as we expand further across the UK and Europe, and the team who keep pushing the limits of what building performance intelligence can do. This recognition belongs to all of them.

“These firms, managed by forward-thinking owners and directors, are prospering in the midst of a difficult economic climate where costs are only rising. It is more important than ever to celebrate these quiet achievers, which is why we are today unveiling our inaugural Sunday Times Scotland Fast 50 list.”

It is a sentiment that resonates. In a few short years we have grown from a Scottish start-up into a business operating across 13 countries, monitoring more than 85,000 rooms and processing over 50 billion data points to help real estate owners and operators understand and improve how their buildings perform.

That growth has been built on substance. Our platform delivers a CBRE-validated nine times return on investment and an average 20 percent reduction in energy use across the portfolios we work with. Behind every one of those numbers is a building running more efficiently, a resident living more comfortably, and an owner with the granular evidence they need to make better decisions. That is the work we care about, and it is the work that has powered our growth.

What makes this recognition especially significant is where it comes from. Utopi was founded in Scotland, and we remain proudly rooted here even as our footprint extends across Europe. To be counted among the quiet achievers powering the Scottish economy is a genuine honour, and a reminder of the strength of the country’s growing technology and PropTech community.

So here is to the journey so far, and to everything still ahead. To our clients, our partners and our team, thank you for being part of it. Let’s celebrate.
