Last week, we were thrilled to return to Property Week’s ESG Edge Awards — this time as finalists for the Best Carbon Initiative. Being recognised for the second year running was a real milestone for Utopi, and a clear reminder of how far we’ve come in shaping ESG performance across multi-tenant real estate.
Our shortlist entry focused on our recent work with Mezzino, where we helped transform the energy performance of their student accommodation asset, Compass. By combining real-time environmental insights from Utopi Multisensors with smart, centrally managed heating controls with Utopi Smart Panel Heaters, we were able to tackle persistent overheating, cut unnecessary energy use, and reduce costs for residents. The results spoke for themselves, delivering meaningful carbon reductions and substantial annual savings across the building.

The awards evening itself was a brilliant chance to reconnect with partners across the industry. We especially enjoyed celebrating with our friends at DLC Europe and Harrison Street Real Estate, whose support and collaboration continue to help drive progress across the sector.
