The Utopi Heatmap and real-time temperature data from the Utopi Multisensor uncovered an overheated space in a BTR asset. Not only was the space the warmest in this asset, but heating patterns analysed suggested heating was coming on at regular intervals even when the space was unoccupied.
Upon inspection by an Engineer, it was found to be a malfunctioning CHP unit (combined heat and power unit) that had been set up incorrectly. This was leading to the unit turning itself on and heating the space at regular intervals. An engineer was informed on the onboarding call, who was then able to complete a site visit to investigate the unit. It was found that the CHP had been set up incorrectly and was turning itself on and off, heating the space at regular intervals as shown in the Utopi Multisensor data.
Upon visiting and inspecting the space, the engineer was able to resolve the issue and stop the CHP unit from malfunctioning, leading to:
